"Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live."
– 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (MSG)
I love to laugh.
Basically the best way to make me relax is to make me watch Cam on Modern Family or Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory.
For the longest time, I have always associated laughter with joy and being happy with joy as well.
What I didn't know is that joy is actually deeper.
Joy is what makes you weather the storms in life and in order for joy to be strong, it must come from a greater source.
As we learn to rely on Jesus and what He has done for us, we learn to weed through what's important and what isn't in our lives.
Our perspectives change and suddenly the situation we're dealing with is no longer much of a big deal.
We suddenly realize that our joy is based on our gratitude. As we become more thankful, our lives produce more joy and life becomes so much easier to handle when we're not constantly disgruntled.
Cry if you must, but it is equally important to laugh as well because life is truly and ridiculously good.
