September 30, 2010: The End of September

September was truly a trying and defining month. Serves me right for calling September the month of transitions, but I’m happy it’s over. I could only look forward to greater things from now on.

God has strengthened me and my family this month and I know that He chisels us to prepare us for something better so in a way, I’m grateful.

And this picture is semi-irrelevant but I’m starting to read The Hunger Games, that is worth a picture right?! Haha! J

September 25, 2010: Get Yar Tango On

I know this is totally credits a Mano Po photo-op but it’s kindda nice to see my relatives all together for a night of dancing, drinking and laughter basically creating memories that would be remembered long after the night is over. It was the first time to truly bond with my cousins, it was great to dance without much worry.

This is what life is about, about these little good times in between.

September 24, 2010: The Ever Persistent Mang Taho

I enjoy Taho.

I also get to enjoy it more because our village’s Mang Tataho is relatively nice and sometimes while he’s pouring sago and syrup in my taho, I couldn’t help but wonder what he’s life like and if he earns enough to sustain his family.

It’s kindda nice to be in touch with people like Mang Tataho on a daily basis. It reminds me of hardworking Pinoys who hardly complain about the jobs that they hold.

It makes me appreciate this country and everything that I have even more.

The One That Got Away

I’ve been having dreams lately.

Those crazy ones that they get on One Tree Hill which leaves you awake in the middle of the night.

You know the dreams which makes Peyton and Lucas uncomfortable.

My dreamland has been traveling backward for the past few days now and silly me, i actually thought that it was a way or a sign for my reality.

Bad move: turns out you can’t go back to people in the past without being redirected back to who you were and how you felt.

it wasn’t worth the nostalgia.

because God closes chapters in our lives for a reason and the present is the only place to be, no use singing songs about the ones that got away because i’m sure God has something better in store than the ones who broke our hearts in the past.
